The Roads and Highways Department (RHD) is one of Bangladesh’s largest government bodies, managing thousands of employees spread across the country. For years, internal communication was slow, and employees had no easy way to find or contact colleagues, departments, or units. Information like phone numbers, email addresses, and designations were scattered, outdated, or missing.

To solve this, Inflack designed and developed a powerful, mobile-first E-Directory system — a smart contact management platform that allows employees to find and connect with each other instantly through calling, messaging, WhatsApp, or email. The platform ensures data privacy, role-based access, and smooth access across mobile and desktop devices.

Client / Project Context

The RHD operates with thousands of officers, engineers, and support staff across various zones, circles, and divisions. Before the E-Directory, employees relied on printed lists, outdated spreadsheets, or personal contacts to reach someone — which often led to communication delays and frustration.

When we started the project, it was just an idea. But as we began exploring, we saw deeper challenges:

  • There was no clear system for updating employee data,
  • No fixed person or team was responsible for keeping contacts current,
  • Employees had no simple way to connect, and
  • There was a need for instant communication without sacrificing security.

Through detailed analysis and close collaboration with RHD stakeholders, Inflack crafted a solution that encouraged responsibility, improved data accuracy, and made it easy for users to stay connected.

Inflack built a secure, modern, and user-friendly E-Directory System using Next.js 15, React 19, TypeScript 5, MongoDB Atlas, and deployed via Vercel with Docker and PM2. The platform is fast, scalable, and designed for both web and mobile users.
